We enjoyed Blue Like Jazz. In our fun time, we've been reading books by Dan Kimball, Eugene Peterson, Leonard Sweet, Brian McLaren. Thought (and spirit) provoking stuff. Another book I enjoyed last year was Geo. Marsden, "Fundamentalism and American Culture: The Shaping of 20th Century Evangelicalism." Insightful big-picture look.
Some Jeeves stories by Wodehouse (_Carry On, Jeeves_, if you haven't read that one)
Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries by Dorothy Sayers
Something by C.S. Lewis (every year -- then you go through his good stuff about every decade)
