january reading list

call me inspired.

in an effort to keep organized and to keep track, i'll be listing books i'm reading (ummm, or hoping to read) each month and (hopefully) reviewing them the following month.

the five love languages of children (chapman, campbell)
the secret of childhood (montessori)
blue like jazz (miller)
a way of seeing (schaeffer)

suggestions?

We enjoyed Blue Like Jazz. In our fun time, we've been reading books by Dan Kimball, Eugene Peterson, Leonard Sweet, Brian McLaren. Thought (and spirit) provoking stuff. Another book I enjoyed last year was Geo. Marsden, "Fundamentalism and American Culture: The Shaping of 20th Century Evangelicalism." Insightful big-picture look.

Some Jeeves stories by Wodehouse (_Carry On, Jeeves_, if you haven't read that one)

Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries by Dorothy Sayers

Something by C.S. Lewis (every year -- then you go through his good stuff about every decade)
